The field of business psychology

Both in the application of basic knowledge and in the investigation of specific problem-oriented issues, psychology can contribute to the description and analysis of economic relationships and business-related actions. Business psychological research and application deals with describing, explaining, predicting, developing and changing behavior and experience in the business context.

As an overall field, business psychology can be divided into different focus areas, which are closely linked in terms of content:

Work psychology refers to the analysis and design of work activity, the workplace and the work environment. For example, typical questions concern. the stress problem or the human-computer interaction.

Organizational psychology deals with people in organizations, especially commercial enterprises. For example, areas of work are the selection and development of employees or the analysis of the working atmosphere.

The psychology of change processes focuses on the behavior of people in change processes. Typical questions concern changes at the individual, team and organizational level.
